Cleaning marine upholstery

Marine carpets and upholstery are very different from those in your home or workplace. They're designed to withstand UV and frequent soakings, but salt, sunscreen, fish and damp still build up and lead to stains, mould and musty smells.

It may be hardy, but it still needs regular care. We suggest a thorough clean once every 6 months.

Boats, cruisers and yachts

From runabouts on Pittwater to cruisers and yachts, we clean cockpit cushions, cabin upholstery, marine carpet, mattresses and vinyl with methods suited to marine materials, and focus on practical drying times so you can get back on the water.

FAQ

Marine Upholstery FAQs

How often should boat upholstery be cleaned?

Pro Wet & Dry recommends a thorough clean of marine carpets and upholstery every 6 months, plus a rinse with fresh water after use, to stop salt, sunscreen and mould building up.

Do you clean boats on the water?

Get in touch with where your boat is moored or stored, whether on a marina berth, a mooring or a trailer, and we'll let you know the best way to get the job done.

Can you remove mould from boat cushions?

In most cases, yes. We treat mould and the musty smell that comes with it, and recommend keeping cushions dry and ventilated afterwards to stop it returning.
